British Motorcycle Owners Association
of Mackay
The aim of the British Motorcycle Owners Association of Mackay is to allow people with a common interest in British motorcycles to share activities, such as monthly meetings, rides, social outings, rallies etc, in order to maximize the pleasure of motorcycle ownership.
The first formal meeting was held in 1979, since then we have been meeting on the second Sunday of every month, currently at Mackay Aero Club, 34 Casey Avenue, Mackay, QLD, 4740. The meetings are conducted in a relaxed and casual format where we discuss all matters relevant to the club including planning club rides and events.
A regular newsletter the Tappet Rattle, contains details of events & articles of interest is distributed to all financial members.
Club merchandise including t-shirts, polos, singlets, bucket hats and caps, badges, sew on patches, stubby coolers, belt buckles are available from the Treasurer.
Major events in the year include The All Bike Show, run since 1984, a memorial ride to St Lawrence, and weekend trips to Lake Elphinstone, Bowen, and many watering holes around the district.
The BMOA’s All Bike Show has been held every year since 1984. In 2025 it was in August at the Mackay Turf Club.
Well the 2025 All Bike Show is done and what a show it was. A big thank you to all the club volunteers, the cooks, the crew on the gate, behind the bar, in the raffle and merchandise tent and all the mob setting up keeping it going and cleaning up. A special thanks to Sledge and the Carer. Big effort boys. Thanks to Jos and Glenda. An apology too due to my oversight during the wrap up speech to thank the Vietnam Vets for their attendance. Thanks boys, was great to have you on board and look forward to seeing you again next year. In all a very successful event with a lot of people catching up with each other. Great to see the Herberton crew, Gary from Tully and the Gladstone bikes.
Thank you all.
